The standard Flexayurt product includes energy-efficient walls, roof, and flooring, plus a complete solar-powered electrical system providing lighting, ventilation, and safety sensors. In many camp scenarios with central facilities, that may be all you need. If not, we offer a complete range of resource-efficient outfitting capabilities enabling us to configure the ideal sheltering solution for your specific scenario. In addition to outfitting each Flexayurt, shared utility systems for water, sanitation and power may be pre-installed in the shipping container transporting Flexayurts, providing an instant “Village in a Box” at destination.
Some of our available options include:
Anchoring: Standard kit includes six 24” auger-style anchors and interior sub-floor mounting brackets. Extreme wind kit adds six exterior anchors that extend less than 6” from the wall. Alternative anchoring options may be configured for specific terrain conditions.
Interior Furnishings: Use existing folding cots and camp furniture, or consider the advantages of our application-specific interiors that ship flat-packed with the shelter and assemble without fasteners or tools. We can also configure highly-engineered solution packages for multi-use rooms, that instantly transform walls to beds, tables/desks, or open space.
Heating & Cooking: Any cooker may be used with the Flexayurt’s standard fume hood, from widely available propane camp stoves to homemade can cookers. We integrate lower-fuel options such as biochar gasifiers that can cook using wood scraps or agricultural waste. For arctic conditions, options include a multi-fuel gasification heater (diesel, bio-diesel, kerosene) or a wood/pellet stove.
Water: We offer physically small and low-cost solar-powered reverse-osmosis filtration systems with optional UV sanitizing, at capacities from 30 GPH to 240 GPH. Our lowest-cost unit fits in a picnic cooler and can support at least 10 people; larger units can support 100+. Heating, washing, shower, rainwater catchment, and gray water recovery solutions may also be added.
Sanitation: For short durations, we offer marine-grade toilets that sanitize wastes for safe removal. For longer durations, composting toilets enable human wastes to be recycled into soil amendments.
Power: In addition to expanding each Flexayurt’s solar array, we can integrate micro-wind, or a 10KW gasification generator – it cleanly burns carbon wastes to make power, and the used fuel becomes a soil enhancer that sequesters carbon.
HOMErgent offers a new paradigm for sustaining people off-grid that dramatically cuts costs, logistics, and environmental footprints, while increasing productivity and user satisfaction. Contact us today and we’ll be happy to tailor the ideal solution for your scenario-specific needs.
